Edward Donald 'Don' Jergens 1921-2017

Don Jergens was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and has lived in Palm City since 1986, having relocated from Hurst, Texas. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in WWII with the 97th Bomber Group, 15th Air Force. . He was a B17 Pilot and took part in the Ploesti oilfield raids earning him two Distinguished Flying Crosses. He was an experimental test pilot with Bell Helicopter, and was also the original test pilot for the CH-47 Chinook
